Spawn for beech fungus

You can grow your own beech fungus with breeding for hypsizygus tessulatus, also known as Shimeji. The beech fungus has a sturdy texture and is considered one of the most gastronomic mushrooms within the family of oyster mushrooms.

The beech fungus performs best on enriched sawdust such as a Masters mix. Good types of wood to grow are willow, oak, alder, beech or elm. The beech fungus is doing less well on straw. Just like with oyster mushrooms, the mycelium is white and downy, similar to that of the Pleurotus Ostreatus, but is not that light.
