Growing with a Lion's Mane Fruiting Block

Culture instructions

  1. Leave the block in the bag and don't open it. To activate the block, make a 3 cm cut with a sharp knife or a razor blade Above the single filter strip. Then press the remaining air out of the bag and fold the flap back.
  2. Place the block in the most damp part of your house (for example your bathroom), in a breeding room with controlled humidity or pull a transparent pedal bucket bag over the block with sufficient space around the block. In the case of a pedal bucket bag: keep the underside a little open so that oxygen can be entered.
  3. Make sure that the breeding set is held away from direct sunlight.
  4. With the method with the pedal bucket bag, keep the humidity up to level by spraying the inside of the bag once or twice a day with a nebulizer or plant sprayer and then pull it over the block again.
  5. On average spraying within 2 weeks of the first time, the Lion's Mane feels the oxygen in the air and starts producing these mushroom pins. Keep an eye on it when you see your first mushroom pins. About 5 to 10 days after pin, you should be ready to harvest Lion's mane. Note: this can take longer!
  6. Harvest your Lion's Mane when they are beautiful full bunches.

Every next harvest will be smaller, but can still produce a good result. First give your block a week's break after your last harvest (don't spray).
